Katie was mildly out of commission this show due to academic responsibilities, but Brad (who has a show from midnight-3 this Sunday, also has rabies) rode sidecar with me (Sophia!). Next show date is uncertain due to summer changes to the schedule.

Despite the fact that Jay Reatard is a garage rock juggernaut now, his most recent releases have been pretty dismal. Blood Visions was poppin’ and catchy but these recent 7” releases have been exceptionally lame and ho-hum (I love The Reatards, so I’m comparing Jay Reatard against The Reatards, not some arbitrary scale). He’s playing with Cheap Time and King Khan & The Shrines in Chicago July 19th but the reason to cough up the $15 for this show is first and foremost to see Cheap Time.          -Sophia
